For generations, the Blue Ridge has drawn people to its mountains and foothills—not only for its natural beauty, but also for the sense of place found within its forests, communities, and historic landscapes. Today, as the pace of daily life continues to accelerate, time spent in nature offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and recharge.
Carolina Blue Ridge Wildflowers & Landscapes: Through the Lens of Bill Robertson invites visitors to experience the beauty and tranquility of the region through the photography of Greenville-based landscape photographer Bill Robertson. An avid hiker and naturalist, Robertson captures sweeping landscapes, delicate wildflowers, and dramatic waterfalls throughout the Carolina Blue Ridge, including the Blue Ridge Escarpment, known to the Cherokee as the “Blue Wall.”
Featuring 40 photographs, the exhibition also highlights the importance of preserving the natural landscapes that inspire them. Through Robertson’s images and the story of South Carolina’s Heritage Preserve system, visitors are invited not only to appreciate the beauty of the Blue Ridge, but to consider the enduring value of protecting these places—and the restorative power they offer to those who experience them.
