SUMMARY:Lunchbox Learning
DESCRIPTION:Telling a Story Through Sound: How the Greenville Symphony Is Bringing Dicey Langston to Life Through the Creativity of Local Youth\n  \nPresented by Jessica Satava\n  \nJoin us to discover where music and history intersect with Greenville Symphony Orchestra’s Executive Director\, Jessica Satava. The Greenville Symphony Orchestra presents Dicey Langston: The South Carolina Girl Who Defied an Army by Peter B. Kay and Mark Waldrop. This production brings to life the tale of Dicey Langston\, a South Carolina teenager whose bravery helped shape the nation’s fight for independence. Discover local history and how the Greenville Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with young women from Travelers Rest bring to life Dicey’s courageous efforts through music. \nJessica Satava is a passionate advocate for the power of symphonic music to activate and unite communities. She serves as the Executive Director of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra offers the public three varied concert series and an array of community engagements\, including onsite music education programming at all 52 elementary schools in Greenville County. Satava previously served in artistic and operational roles at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University\, the Aspen Music Festival and School\, and in fundraising at Baltimore’s Enoch Pratt Free Library. \n  \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLunchbox Learning is generously sponsored by:
