DESCRIPTION:William Washington: American Light Dragoon\nPresented by Durant Ashmore\nPerhaps America’s finest cavalry commander\, Lt. Col. William Washington fought with distinction in the Northern and Southern Campaigns\, including some of the most memorable battles ever fought in South Carolina. After the American Revolution\, he continued his military career before becoming a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. \nDurant Ashmore is a native South Carolinian\, battlefield preservationist\, and American Revolutionary War historian.
