DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, February 17 at Noon\nPresenter: Claudia Smith Brinson \nTopic: Stories of Struggle: The Clash over Civil Rights in South Carolina \nIn her newest book\, Stories of Struggle\, longtime journalist Claudia Smith Brinson chronicles twenty pivotal years of petitioning\, picketing\, boycotting\, marching\, and holding sit-ins. Through her extensive research and interviews with more than one hundred fifty civil rights activists\, Brinson will share intimate stories of courage and conviction that highlight the progress achieved by nonviolent activism while also revealing the often violent resistance to change. \nProgram will be offered virtually and in-person (through Zoom presentation) at the Museum.
